Geology 100 Earth Systems I The materials of the Earth's crust, the processes that produce and modify them, and the development of the Earth and its life forms through time. Geology 203 Geology and the Environment Application of basic geologic knowledge to problems resulting from society's use of the Earth and its resources.. Geography 120: Earth Systems II: Atmospheric Environment The intent is to provide a basic understanding of the nature of the atmosphere and the processes acting in it. We will consider both short-term (weather) phenomena and their synthesis into climate. Physical principles and some mathematical manipulations will be highlighted as tools for understanding the complex climate system. http://www.geography.ohio-state.edu/classdocs/CLASSPAGES.HTML * Geography H410 http://geog-www.sbs.ohio-state.edu/courses/H410/ * Geography 597.02: Integrated Earth Systems: Confronting Global Change http://geog-www.sbs.ohio-state.edu/courses/G597.02/ Through a Combination of Lectures, Modeling Exercises, and Group Activities Students Will Explore: * How the Earth's Climate System Works. * How Our Environment Has Changed over Time. * Why These Changes Have Occurred. * How Recent Environmental Changes May Affect Your Future. Course Goal: To Provide a Background for Critical Thinking About Current Environmental Issues (* taught by ESSE PI)
